It does not come with the bypass valve that is supplied when new, and there is no way to change the shut-off level. If the pump runs continuously without pumping water, it could be air-locked, and the hose connection at the top of the pump should be loosened slightly to release air. This pump is not battery powered and cannot be adjusted to lower the height of the water level to start pumping. Customer experiences with this product have mixed feedback.
