  • question: Is this a heavier line that can used from bank fishing to get small baits out further?

    répondre: It weighs more than mono or braided line but it's also less limber. It's mostly used for trolling from a moving boat where you can pay it out slowly as the boat moves. It allows a trolled bait or lure to troll deeper without using a planer.
  • question: What is the 12 lb. LC equivalent diameter in monofilament?

    répondre: I’d say it was equivalent to 20 lb braid or 20 lb mono in diameter but it isn’t as supple as mono. You probably know that much.
  • question: Looking to Troll for bass and blues. What weight is suggested ? 12,18,36???

    répondre: The diameter of lead core is all basically the same so it depends on how deep you are going to troll and how fast you are going to troll. Going for bass (stripers I assume) and blues, I would go with the 36.
  • question: Boat speed of 2.4 mph, buck tail 1oz jig = what depth with this line?

    répondre: Runs about 8 feet deep per color.
  • question: One does one size signify?

    répondre: If you are talking colors they are 10 yards each.
  • question: Is this line only 4 trolling? Could I use 12 lb. line 4 my low profile reel 4 baitcast fishing ? Or drift fishing on Lake Erie.

    répondre: There is no reason that should stop you from using this line for casting.
  • question: So is it 5' or 7' per color and does it come with a color sticker to put on the rod? Thanks

    répondre: From what I could find online, it’s 8ft per color, so 80’ for a 100yd spool.
  • question: Does this have a uniform weight per color or does it vary per color?

    répondre: The color gives you an idea of how deep you are and is far as I know the weight is uniform.
  • question: Will the okuma reel take this 100 yards plus a backing and 100 foot leader ??? Any ideas ? Thanks for your help, first time user.

    répondre: Depends on which Okuma reel. The 300CL is too small, I used it to hold 7 colors, short backing, 12 lbtest LC and 70ft leader. If you want a full core you need a reel that shows abt 400 yards/20lb tst mono. The Okuma 400 holds a full core.
  • question: How do you attach leader to this line? A Willis knot or ? How easy is it to attach leader

    répondre: Personally I would whip a braided loop to both ends of the lead core line. One to fix to the spool and the other for the leader. Simples :-)

The Sufix Performance Lead Core 100 Yards Metered Fishing Line is a heavy line suitable for trolling from a moving boat. It weighs more than mono or braided line but is less limber. It allows a trolled bait or lure to troll deeper without using a planer. The diameter of lead core is all basically the same, so the suggested weight to use depends on how deep you are going to troll and how fast you are going to troll. It comes in different strengths, and its thinness and strength make it suitable for casting. To attach the leader to the line, customers would whip a braided loop to both ends of the lead core line. Overall, customers had a good experience with the product having no issues or failures with it, and also working well for them, trolling all the time on Shasta Lake. A customer also mentioned that the product fills their real perfectly. A few customers had issues with the line kinking and backlash, but they switched to clip weights, and the product worked fine.
