Lew's Reels CPB1SHLG3 Editorial Review
The Custom Pro 7.5:1 Left Hand Baitcast Reel has garnered predominantly positive feedback from anglers who appreciate its advanced braking system and performance attributes. Many seasoned fishermen, particularly those loyal to Lews, note this model as superior to their previous favorites, such as the Tournament Pro and Super Duty reels. Users have praised the reel's lightweight Construction and ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand, allowing for prolonged use. One standout feature highlighted by multiple reviewers is the reel's ability to eliminate backlashes, even in challenging casting conditions like strong winds. With the magnetic brakes set at 3.5, users report casting small jigs without needing to apply thumb pressure, a significant usability improvement. The reel is compared favorably to premium models from competitors, suggesting that it offers high-end performance at a more accessible price point. However, there are some criticisms among the reviews. A few users indicated that the absence of an instruction manual may lead to uncertainty about optimal settings. Additionally, there were requests for different gear ratios, and a couple of critical comments about receiving faulty units, including one with dried seaweed in the reel bearings. Overall, the Custom Pro 7.5:1 Left Hand Baitcast Reel appears to be a well-received addition to Lews' lineup, particularly for those serious about their fishing gear and looking for a reliable, high-performing baitcast reel. **
