Baum Tools Head Bolt Sets 112250 Editorial Review

In an editorial review of the BMW E12 Cylinder Head Bolt Socket, it is noted that the tool fits well between the cam and head, making it convenient for removing and installing head bolts without having to remove other components. However, the additional feature of a ball "detent" meant to grip the bolt head is poorly designed, and there have been concerns about the retaining spring band and ball falling off the tool during use. Multiple users have reported instances of the steel ball and retainer ending up inside the engine during use, which could potentially be hazardous. One user emphasized the importance of removing these components before using the tool to prevent any mishaps. Overall, while the tool effectively serves its purpose, it is advised to exercise caution and remove the problematic components before use.
