The Makita XFD131 18V LXT is a powerful and versatile drill with great RPMs and variable speed. It has a hammer drill feature and can drill through mild steel with a good bit. It holds drill bits and drivers flawlessly and has a great feel. However, it is important to set it on 2 to reduce torque as the torque is high and can strip nylon nuts easily. One customer had a defective product which started to smoke after a few uses, but most other customers had no problems and have been using the drill for several years.
