Product Description
Liquitex Professional Acrylic Varnish, High Gloss, 118 ml
About This Item
Protect and enhance your acrylic paintings with Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish. This 946ml (32-oz) bottle is perfect for artists who are looking to add a glossy finish to their artwork. Liquitex is known for offering the widest range of acrylic mediums, and their varnish mediums are no exception.
These varnishes not only protect your painting from the elements, but also protect the pigments from ultraviolet light. Additionally, varnishes can be used to change or unify a painting's surface sheen. What sets Liquitex apart is their commitment to quality. Their Archival Permanent Varnish Finishing Medium is a low-odor, permanent, and durable medium with water-based technology.
When applied, it is translucent when wet, and dries clear. It resists discoloring due to humidity, heat, and ultraviolet light. Not only is this varnish compatible with a variety of paints, including spray paint, heavy body, and soft body, but it also dries to a non-tacky, hard, and flexible surface that is resistant to dirt retention.
Its archival and water-resistant properties make it ideal for both interior and exterior use. To apply this varnish, make sure that your painting surface and environment are clean, dry, and dust-free. Your acrylic paintings must be completely dried and cured for 48-72 hours before varnishing. You can apply the varnish using a brush or spray.
For a thinner, smoother, and more even application, spraying is recommended. Please keep in mind that acrylic paints and mediums become increasingly brittle in cold weather, so do not apply the varnish below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Whether you are a student or an experienced artist, Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish is an essential addition to your art supplies. Its high-quality formula and wide range of applications make it a versatile and reliable choice for artists of all skill levels.

Customers have reported positive experiences using this varnish on these surfaces, stating that it provides good protection and a nice shine. One customer mentioned using the varnish on acrylic painted stones in their garden and stated that after a year, the stones still looked good. Another customer mentioned using it on gold leaf sections of their abstract painting and found that it covered and dried perfectly over the gold leaf. There were also inquiries about using the varnish on vinyl wall tiles and wood doors in the kitchen. While one customer suggested trying a thin coat at a time on the wall tiles, another customer stated that they have only used it on gilded metal but found that it adhered well and provided long-lasting protection. In terms of reviews, customers are generally satisfied with the quality and performance of the varnish. They mentioned that it looks great on paintings, provides a beautiful shine, and is easy to use. One customer even described it as the best high gloss varnish money can buy, praising its smoothness, quick drying time, and lack of bubbles. However, there was one negative review where a customer claimed that the varnish smudged their painting and they had to go over it again. It is important to note that this seems to be an isolated incident, as the majority of customers did not report any issues with the varnish. Overall, the Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish is well-received by customers for its quality, protection, and shine. It is a reliable product that is recommended for use on various surfaces.
