Contemporary Editorial Review
**** "A Deal with the Devil" marks a refreshing entry into the contemporary romance genre, particularly celebrated for its engaging character dynamics and poignant storytelling. The book features a classic "grump x sunshine" trope, pairing Hayes, a brooding plastic surgeon harboring a fractured past, with Tali, a vibrant and quick-witted aspiring author. Readers are drawn into their world as the narrative cleverly intertwines Tali's journey of writing a young adult fantasy novel with the evolution of her relationship with Hayes. Their connection is anchored in witty banter, marked by significant character development that explores themes of vulnerability, healing, and the struggle to trust again. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and the slow burn of their romance, alongside well-timed spicy moments, keeps readers entertained. The supporting characters are rich and multidimensional, enhancing the main story arc while contributing humor and depth. The banter is a standout, injecting a delightful pace into the story. Overall, the author, Ms. O’Roark, demonstrates a notable talent for crafting stories that blend charm and emotional heft. Though some readers expected a more overtly steamy romance, the slow build-up and eventual resolution of tension prove rewarding. The well-rounded characters and engaging plot easily outweigh any minor misgivings. This novel is a testament to the power of banter and connection, making it a recommended read for genre enthusiasts. **
