With Speed, Cadence, Remote, HRM sensors and the Rally RS200 Power-meter pedals, this compact cycling navigator becomes a connected powerhouse for live training analytics and later analysis via the Connect app and portal. The battery life of the device is also commendable. However, there are a few drawbacks to Consider. Firstly, the routing capabilities of the Edge 530, as well as the available apps through the ConnectIQ store, feel outdated when compared to modern smartphones. Additionally, the user interface can be cumbersome due to the need for multiple button presses to access various functions. Setting up data screens also requires a significant number of button presses and cannot be done through the Connect app. Despite these drawbacks, the Garmin Edge 530 is still a recommended bike computer due to its versatility and functionality. Once the initial setup is complete, users will find it to be a reliable companion for tracking training and riding performances.
